Every answer names the provision it came from. Where no provision matches, it declines rather than inventing one. Law that applies in one state only is attributed to that state and never presented as national.

This is legal information, not legal advice. It tells you what the law says and what the usual next step is. It cannot tell you what to do in your case.
It is no substitute for a lawyer. For anything with a deadline, a court date, or a police matter in progress, speak to an advocate.

Three languages of twenty-two. Answers are strongest in English and less consistently specific in Hindi and Gujarati. State-specific law is Gujarat’s only; a citizen elsewhere gets the central position with that fact stated.

Why

Why we built this

Every fifty kilometres in India, the dialect changes, the customs change, and the law that actually applies to you changes with them.

A general-purpose model trained on aggregated English data treats India as one bucket, and answers a citizen’s question about their own rights fluently, confidently, and sometimes wrongly. The people most likely to rely on such an answer are the least equipped to catch the error. Know Your Rights is free permanently, because nobody should have to pay to find out what their rights are. It runs on infrastructure under Indian control, and no citizen’s legal question is sent to a foreign API.
